ROI (Return on Investment)

📖 Glossary

Definition

ROI measures how much you've profited relative to how much you've staked. It's the most important single metric for evaluating betting performance.

You staked $10,000 total across 200 bets.
Your profit is $800.
ROI = $800 ÷ $10,000 = 8%

For context: • 3-5% ROI = solid recreational bettor • 5-10% ROI = strong performer • 10%+ ROI = elite (hard to sustain at scale) [/example]

ROI matters more than win rate. A 55% win rate at -110 odds is only +2.3% ROI, while a 45% win rate at +200 odds is +12.5% ROI.
