• Betting more than you planned, or more often than you planned
• Chasing losses — betting to win back money you have already lost
• Betting with money set aside for rent, bills, food, or debt
• Borrowing, selling things, or hiding transactions to keep betting
• Lying to family, friends, or yourself about how much you bet
• Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut back, or unable to stop thinking about the next bet
• Betting to escape stress, anxiety, or low mood

• Gamblers Anonymous — gamblersanonymous.org. Free peer support meetings, in person and online.
• Gam-Anon — gam-anon.org. Support for family and friends of people who gamble.

Outside the United States, contact your national gambling helpline or health service. If you are in immediate crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) in the US, or your local emergency number.

Practical steps

• Every regulated US sportsbook offers deposit, loss, and time limits, plus cooling-off periods and self-exclusion. They work — use them before you think you need them.
• Most states run a self-exclusion program that covers every licensed operator in the state. Your state gaming commission can tell you how.
• Blocking software such as Gamban or BetBlocker can remove gambling sites from your devices.
• If you want to stop seeing this product too, you can cancel your subscription at any time from your account page.
