Bankroll

📖 Glossary

Definition

Your bankroll is the total amount of money you've dedicated specifically to sports betting. It should be money you can afford to lose — separate from rent, bills, and savings.

Why It's Important

Professional bettors size every bet as a percentage of their bankroll. This prevents going broke during losing streaks and maximizes growth during winning streaks.

Bankroll: $1,000
Recommended bet size: 1-3% per bet = $10-$30 per bet

If you hit a 10-bet losing streak (happens to everyone): • At 2% sizing: You lose $200 → $800 remaining (survivable) • At 20% sizing: You lose $2,000 → Broke. [/example]

Set your default bankroll in Account settings. The Kelly Calculator will automatically size bets as a percentage of this amount.
