DFS Cash Games vs Tournaments

🛠️ Tools & Features

Cash games and tournaments require completely different DFS strategies. Here's how to use the Edge Finder for each.

Cash Games (50/50s, Double-Ups)

Goal: Beat 50% of the field. Consistency wins.

CASH GAME STRATEGY:
• Pick the safest high-edge players (high floor)
• Don't worry about ownership — everyone can win
• Avoid risky players even if their ceiling is huge
• Use the Edge Finder's "floor" metric (projected minimum output)
Think of it like: You need a B+ grade. Play it safe.

Tournaments (GPPs)

Goal: Finish in the top 1-5% for a big payout. Upside wins.

TOURNAMENT STRATEGY:
• Find low-ownership, high-edge players (leverage)
• Embrace risk — one lineup needs to be the best
• Stack correlated players from high-total games
• Use the Edge Finder's "ceiling" metric (projected max output)
Think of it like: You need an A+ grade. Swing for the fences.

How the Edge Finder Helps Each

For cash: Sort by edge + floor. The highest-floor, highest-edge players are your safest plays.

For tournaments: Sort by edge + ceiling. Then check ownership projections — the lower the ownership on a high-edge player, the better your leverage.

Bankroll Split

Recommended DFS bankroll allocation:
• 70% in cash games (steady income)
• 30% in tournaments (high-variance, high-reward)
Within tournaments: Multi-enter with different lineups
to increase your chance of hitting the optimal build.

The DFS Edge Finder shows both floor and ceiling projections for every player. Use floor for cash, ceiling for GPPs. Read DFS Lineup Building for the full step-by-step process.
